Welcome to Gumawa Space's - Querying Queerness: Creating Containers of Care program!

A free 4 week in-person community arts + wellness impact program that provides a space of care, connection and compassion to 10 racialized, LGBTQ+, & mentally ill identifying Youth (age 20-30) during the winter months of February & March (in two separate cohorts).

We are curious in exploring the intersections of LGBTQ+ Youths' relationship to being queer & the impact it has on their well-being; how community is essential to the survival & liberation of existing in this life time; and how we can create spaces + tools of care that can ripple beyond the creative container that we are manifesting together.

Throughout this program we will be building together wellness care kits through a variety of written/visual/oral storytelling and story-sharing delivered by each other within community.

Each Youth Storyteller will share a creative + wellness offering to their chosen cohort for one session.
